JAMMU: Two days after an unidentified terrorist was neutralised in an encounter in the upper reaches of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces on Monday recovered one Ak-47 rifle, a grenade and other ammunition from the site.
Police said on September 11, a joint search operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Gambir Mughlan area of Rajouri.
“During the search, hidden terrorists opened fire on the security forces who retaliated effectively, when one unidentified terrorist was neutralised,” a police spokesperson said.
He added that during the search operation in the area, the security forces recovered one AK-47 with two magazines, 32 rounds of bullets and one grenade from the encounter site.
“In this regard, a case under the arms Act has been registered at Manjakote police station and an investigation initiated.”
Search operation in the area is still on, the police added.
